Encouraging Moral Decline
King Ahaz was described as one encouraging moral decline in Judah. We need to make sure we are not guilty of the same. This article offers some things which encourage moral decline, which we need to steer clear of as children of God.
The Simple Gospel: What to be in 2005
It’s that time of year again, when millions make New Year’s resolutions — with many breaking them within the first week of the New Year. Resolutions are not bad. Making goals is a helpful way to achieve the improvements we wish to make in our lives. They need to be realistic and possible.
The Simple Gospel: In a Sound Church, Yet Without a Clue
As long as we have “sound churches” with brethren in them “who don’t have a clue”, then we are going to lose ground to Satan on a daily basis! As long as we have preachers who, for whatever reason, are not joining the front line of battle against this encroaching enemy, then Satan’s forces will continue to surround and destroy one church after another because of their ignorance and complacency.
Preaching/Teaching
For the edification of the brethren, the preaching of the gospel is needed in our worship assemblies. “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2). May we all be blessed by the faithful proclamation of truth.

The Work of Bible Class Teachers
Let us consider that Bible class teachers must meet certain qualifications before being placed in a position of teaching God’s Word to others. James says: “My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation” (James 3:1). The word “masters” here refers to teachers. This passage is not given in order to discourage Christians from being teachers of truth, but rather to make all of us realize the great responsibility that is placed upon one who would aspire to such a great work.
The Simple Gospel: To My Fathers and Mothers in the Faith
To my fathers and mothers in the faith I urge you to consider your elementary yet awesome role in the Lord’s kingdom. Teach the younger men and women how they should conduct themselves in the house of God. In so doing the church of the living God, which is the pillar and ground of the truth, moves forward yet another generation as a beacon of light in the midst of a crooked world and wayward brethren.
