Mission work can take one to strange, exciting, and dangerous places. It can bring him into contact with literally all kinds of people (such stories would fill a book). There are a variety of methods one might use. One might go as a planter or a waterer. He may go as a planter and, with time, do the work of a waterer. Let us all resolve to think of ourselves as ministers of God and, as such, serve him as preachers and teachers of his word.

I pray that our work here in Hungary continues to grow on the foundation that has been laid by the preachers before me: Lynn Trapp, Jeff Archer, Richard Copeland, Alan Yeater and David Bunting. They graciously paid their dues for the Lord and for these precious souls that are thirsting for the Truth, after being squashed by Communism for all these years!

Let us do what we can for the cause of Christ elsewhere while it is day and while we have life! No one knows when our end will be. Only God knows this.

The fight against societies, organizations, centralization of authority, and all that belongs to digression in general, so valiantly made in Tennessee and Texas fifty and sixty years ago, shall be fought all over again. The Lord has many thousands who have not bowed the knee to Baal — and shall not! From every point of the compass they shall rally to the call for truth and right. Our fathers have not fought in vain; their sons shall catch the torch of truth and hold it high. Let advocates of error be fully warned; there are a mighty host who say with us, They shall not pass!

“This is not a good time for my family.” “I’m not sure how my kids will handle it if I’m away from home for several…

While Jesus may never have left the borders of his native land he nonetheless amply equips by his example those who aspire to do so. He shows us that such work is serious business, not to be undertaken lightly or without preparation, and that his example of love must be continually born in mind. Jesus is the example for many who have not yet preached in foreign lands but may be able to do so. Hopefully, this article will be an encouragement for them.

In general, Italian brethren are enough committed to the Lord. Two of the main problems are the facts that the congregations grow very slowly in number (in spite of the many efforts done in spreading the Gospel), and, even after many years, they can’t appoint elders and deacons according to the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

In the words of Jesus, don’t say four months…the fields are white unto harvest. Pray for more workers! And when you find the workers, how can they go except they be sent? Brethren, don’t forget the lost millions while you are enjoying the fellowship of a hundred or more Christians in your home congregation. Look unto the fields!

I cannot count how many times I have been asked if I knew of someone who could work in some needy field. Many others have been asked these same questions. There is a great need for men who will go “into all the world.” There is a great need to keep stirring up brethren’s minds on this subject! When you do find someone who will work in a foreign field, either for short or long term, he also becomes a voice to stir brethren up that he knows. Let us each seek to do what we can in our lives to answer this need.

We hope this article will serve the purpose of informing our readers of our plans for this page. However, we also hope it will encourage brethren involved in or connected with foreign evangelism to contribute such news, reports, and information as we have detailed herein. Our ultimate hope is that our efforts herein will fall out to the furtherance of the Gospel.

Some of our brethren seem to be ashamed of the gospel, but Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16). Thus, we could never imagine Paul preaching like this: “Unless you repent, in a measure, and are baptized, by some mode, in order to be saved, so to speak, you are in danger of being lost, at least to some extent.” Many brethren here and in other foreign lands who have been associated with the liberals, are tired of their weak and watered down, social and self-centered gospel. We cannot afford to go down that same path of destruction.
