The Distaff: The Role of Women in the Local Church
The work of women in the local church must be defined by gospel standards and not by our culture. The way we live is vastly different from New Testament times but God has permanently set the pattern for work and organization of the church outside of time and human influence. Regardless of how much more social freedom women have today, the work of women in the church is the same as it was when Priscilla traveled with her husband, when Dorcas made clothes for the needy, and when Phoebe was serving the church in Cenchrea.

The Distaff: The Foolishness of Preaching Modesty
Nakedness is not defined by our culture; God has placed limits there. Examine the scriptures and be convinced of what he expects. We should monitor our wardrobe to see that we are walking in the light as he is in the light (1 John 1:7) and not in the shadow of the temple to worldliness. The Distaff: Why Women Should Come to the Lord
There are many reasons why women should come to the Lord and this list could go on. The most important reason is to obtain salvation from the sentence of death caused by our sin. We may be comforted in knowing our Lord’s loving attitude toward women of protection, compassion, honor, and friendship. We can be assured that our Lord loves our children as much as we do and has provided a way for them to be with us forever. One need only to obey the simple plan of salvation given by God in His word.
The Distaff: Women and the Marriage Covenant
God views marriage as a covenant which is holy. He created it in the beginning of time. We must approach this covenant carefully knowing its rules and binding nature. Women carry some special responsibilities in marriage including managing the house, loving their husband and children, and submission to their own husband. Christian women should choose carefully who they marry: looking for a faithful Christian man upon whom to place their affections.
